Anya could really use a friend. But her new BFF isn’t kidding about the “Forever” part . . . Of all the things Anya expected to find at the bottom of an old well, a new friend was not one of them. Especially not a new friend who’s been dead for a century. Falling down a well is bad enough, but Anya’s normal life might actually be worse. She’s embarrassed by her family, self-conscious about her body, and she’s pretty much given up on fitting in at school. A new friend—even a ghost—is just what she needs. Or so she thinks.
I bought this thinking that it would be a great read for some of the kids who don't quite fit in like Anya, but I didn't expect the humour that the author put into it to actually make me laughoutloud, especially when the Mohawk’d teen only agrees to rescue her if she’s “hot”.
(That’s 2 books in quite a short period of time, maybe I’m going soft)
Anya falls down a well while skipping school only to find a pile of bones and meets the very lonely ghost who also just wants a friend.
This graphic novel is such an easy read; don’t expect to take more than an hour reading it. It is very easy to follow with the speech bubbles, with a clear drawing style in black and white.
The ending was actually quite surprising and a little thrilling to read, but I won’t ruin it for you.
