Realization
By Shane
(Before I start this, I want to thank my librarian and the people who commented on my first poem, what they said honestly and truly helped me think of this next poem, it’s sort of a sequel to my first one)
Walking in the daylight, thinking on what has been said,
Hoping that my words have over and over again been read,
Surely now there is hope to be had, despair be gone, I have no reason to be sad,
I am seeing now, people stopping to help others that have fallen,
But our work is not done, not by a long shot,
There are still people all around the world, millions being caught,
Being tortured and crucified, this is what we’ve wrought,
History repeats itself, this is what I believe,
I know this is just the same thing over and over,
But we need more people, more luck, more than a four leaf clover
I speak from the heart, and from deep in my core,
Lots is being done, but not enough, we need more,
We need not only Canadians, Americans and French,
Not only English, and German, filled in is the war trench
Act as brothers and sisters, act as one,
Together, let us turn this dark moon into a bright sun
Only light will show us the way,
And for all those bad people out there, I hope these words will sway,
Realize all the wrong you have done, all the lives you have shattered,
Ask for forgiveness and you will not be battered
Thank You for the Poem, it is very good!
